WINGS and WHEELS Car Show & Fly-In

Event CANCELLED

Wings and Wheels Show is Cancelled for this year

NOT JUST A CAR SHOW

On behalf of the Lions Club and myself, I want to thank each of you for your commitment, efforts and friendship over the past year to organize the show.  Hopefully next year will find us all in a better place to once again enjoy each other’s company.

Sincerely,
Ross Kroenert

  1. You have to be kidding me, Cancelled? Bull Shit. Your show is not until July. Do you and the city of Florence think this crap is going on forever? If you have cancelled it, I would like a refund of my registration fee, and I will look for a car show not afraid of this phony Virus. To bad, I’ve been going to your show for years, to bad it’s ended.

    • Thanks for your comment Paul…
All of us are disappointed too, and it is not what anyone expected. It became more complicated because of availability of the classic Warplanes which are a big part of the show. Shows not cancelled yet are Beachcombers in Waldport now scheduled for June 13, and Cars at the Coast on July 18 in Newport OR.

Dear Wings and Wheels Committee members,
After consultation with Mark Meyers and Jerry Coffindaffer, President and Treasurer of the Lions Club, it has been decided that we will be cancelling the 2020 Wings and Wheels event on July 11.
We will be issuing refund checks to the sponsors and registered car owners over the course of the coming week.
Among, but not limited to, the reasoning for this decision:
Due to the Coronavirus restrictions we felt that the event was too large, too soon, after any loosening of public distancing restrictions that may or may not occur in the following months
Reduced show vehicles preregistered as people are hesitant to go to large scale events
Reduced sponsorships as local businesses needed to conserve their cash
With the lead times required for T-shirts, trophies and related products requiring spending the money now, it was not fiscally responsible should we still have to cancel the event at a later date.

On behalf of the Lions Club and myself, I want to thank each of you for your commitment, efforts and friendship over the past year to organize the show. Hopefully next year will find us all in a better place to once again enjoy each other’s company.
      Sincerely,
      Ross Kroenert

  2. Thanks for your reply on the car show cancellation. Really sad about this event off for this year, look forward towards it all year and then this. You guys do a hell of a job putting it on, and We thank you for what you do. Hopefully we will see you next year. We are still going to drive up to Florence that weekend, we have motel reservations and we got to get out of Dodge, if you know what I mean? Thanks Ross and company.
