Thursday Morning 8/24 …I just made it to the end of my driveway when Jim Adie blew by in his ’47 Mercury. The Flathead humming and Sonja waving. Following him was a string of 22 cool cars piloted by long time members and local characters.. I jumped in on the tail end, adding yet another local character. Parking was plentiful and we had a sweet car show going on. Everyone Stood-Around and “WhatsSupp?ed” for a while. Once inside the staff was ready for us with plenty of servers and booths for 54 people. Menus went around, and the buffet was ready to dig in. Sonja made a couple announcements, Bill Files proposed we rename “Stand-Around” to “Cruise-In” and it passed. I announced the opening of the Rhody Cruisers Store, and Gary Neal pitched the Rods ‘N Rhodies Show. We were so glad to see Tony Androsky after a couple of years of health issues, along with many folks we don’t often see. A guy named Bud, visiting from Alaska, announced that it was great we had a car show just for him, and mentioned his two ’57 Chevys at home. All together it was outstanding to have the family together. When I got done snapping pictures, everyone was gone. I hope we can do this together often.
