One of the main reasons I moved to Florence 4 years ago was for the car culture. On any sunny day you see cool cars cruising in town, and parked in Old Town. Muscle cars, Street Rods, Vintage Hot Rods, Radical Restorations, and endless varieties in between. The Oregon Coast offers up lots of Car Shows and events in the summer, making a fun low cost outing for gear heads, families and everyone who loves classic cars. (“I had one just like that”). …I love to show my Vega, often beginning with an early morning meet-up and a run up the coast to the next event. What about the rest of the time? When I’m not in the shop working on my project, I tend to spend a lot of time thinking about cars, and at my computer, surfing for Drag Racers, Street Rods, Classic Show Cars, Rat Rods and Rockabilly music.
I have never been able to find any info about local cars I know, or get any info about the owner/builder. All of these cars have a story which most owners would love to share.
I hope to come up with a way to feature a car. Photos, Tech, and The Story.
So, here I am, working on another website. Please pardon the mess while I try to learn WordPress. My goals are to:
— Feature the cars, people, and stories of the Hot Rods of the Oregon Coast.
— Post Project Photos
— Post a schedule of Shows and events.
— Establish a forum for members to ask and answer questions.
— Member News
— Club Activities
